Hi! Okay – you’ve asked, “How can I help”? Well, here is how!
This letter is from Suz Remus, a targeted parent and friend who I mentioned in my previous post who stopped believing the lie that she was powerless and has been instrumental in getting a bill sponsored, written, and posted in both the FLA House and senate to effectively combat the child psychological abuse that is PA. Please look at this letter—YOUR HELP IS WANTED, NEEDED, AND WILL HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
This is torture and needs to be stopped
I hope you’re finding ways to help! All our voices count!!
The busier and closer we get to bill day…. I pray more and more
There’s so much goin on!
I LOVE IT!
Love it! I was able to sit down with Mass State Representative Chris Walsh, who tried and failed to submit a bill here this year. The bill was rejected as unconstitutional, because the psychology pieces Dr. Childress has outlined so well need to be in place before legislation can go forward. Until the Childress AB-PA model is included in the DSM-5, the legal side will have an uphill battle.
Rep Walsh’s office then contacted Dr. Childress and asked him to give a briefing at the State House to the 200 legislators and their aides who have been invited to attend on May 31st. My local chapter of Alienated Grandparents Anonymous will be sending a letter to 200 Mass. Councils on Aging, urging seniors to contact their representatives and ask them to be at that briefing.
We can do this. Momentum is building and we have the pieces, We just need to put them together.
Hi Nicola,
Thanks for the comment. We had a bump here in NC- I’m gathering thoughts before posting about it. The bill did not get rejected, but it did get turned into what is known as a study. It means there is a desire to do something but we have to get more information and present it in such a way we can get more buy in. I am also thinking through ways we can move things forward at all in the meantime, things that would be perhaps smaller chunks like tightening up legal procedures that may already be in place to further awareness of alienating behaviors in the court system.
