AND remember this– Suz is not a lobbyist. She is a targeted parent who stopped believing the lie that she was alone and powerless.
I have made the representatives I’ve been speaking with aware of this in my state. I am hoping this will make it more real to them and also help them in the work they are already doing on crafting something similar here since it’s been done there already.
And… I am not a lobbyist. I am a targeted parent who stopped believing the lie that I was alone and powerless.
The new day is coming….
We have been waiting for the day when this idea would become reality. Personally, I am still waiting to see the duplicate bill be filed from the House through Rep Antone. Because I am not a legislator or lobbyist I am learning the process step by step by going through it. So this is an amendment to a current statute which makes it a like a joint resolution? I have to ask. Rep Antone explained to me a while ago but I’m just going along. Thank you for your partnership.
Here ya go! Have fun! After I figure this out maybe I can help others . . . I want to 🙂 https://www.flsenate.gov/PublishedContent/ADMINISTRATIVEPUBLICATIONS/ManualforDrafting.pdf
Thanks, Suz!
Does this bill cover “false accusation”?
THANK you
Marla – As someone who has had to deal with four of them (so far) this bill goes to the root of the issue. It identifies when a child is being manipulated into rejecting a parent and false accusations are sadly oftentimes a part of that. So it makes things clearer, faster. What’s important to note is that if something is really going on then the child will not be displaying the cluster of behaviors identified and there is higher likelihood they are telling the truth. This way an authentic case of abuse can be discerned from false cases of abuse.

Anymore I feel like new legislation (no matter how seemingly helpful) always turns against good people. What a MESS we live in!
I would say it’s more accurate that people can twist laws to their own ends to be sure which is why they evolve over time. But laws protecting physically abused children have by and large made a good positive impact. Progress, not perfection.
This could be a very important step forward in protecting children from abuse and parental alienation. It is crucial for well-meaning parents to learn as much as they can about their own and their child’s rights. Getting help as soon as possible is key to minimizing trauma and effectively overcoming the situation.
